For the past ten years, Christian Baumeister and his company Light & Shadow have garnered international acclaim for original wildlife films. Christian is known for his award-winning, breathtaking cinematography, detailed animal portraits and flawless compositions. He has directed and co-produced ten feature programs with leading broadcasters such as ARD / NDR, ZDF, BBC, ARTE, ORF, Discovery Channel and National Geographic Channel. Passionate about wildlife photography from a very young age, Christian studied biology in his native Germany and wildlife filmmaking in the UK. Before founding Light & Shadow, his work as a wildlife cameraman took him to South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Founded in 2001, Light & Shadow, now operates offices in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and in Münster, Germany. Christian recently finished the production of Amazon Alive, a three-part series portraying the beauty and uniqueness of Amazonia in unprecedented depth and visual quality.
